St. Catharines blows out Fort Erie, 7-2

The St. Catharines Falcons were firing on all cylinders against the Fort Erie Meteors, and when the final buzzer sounded Falcons emerged with a 7-2 win.

St. Catharines' offense was sparked by Jimmy Sheehan, as he ended with four assists in a victory against Fort Erie.

The Falcons forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up eight minors and one major for 41 minutes in penalty time. St. Catharines surpassed its season average of 33.0 penalty minutes per game. The Meteors were unable to stop the Falcons from sending pucks towards the net, and St. Catharines eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

St. Catharines also got points from Ben Walsh, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Tyler Jackson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Julian Luciani, who also racked up one goal and one assist. St. Catharines also got a goal from Aaron Taylor as well. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Koddi Quick, Jake Bowman, and Spencer DeWolfe, who contributed one a piece.

Fort Erie's offense rang up 35 shots on the Falcons' net.

The Meteors were helped by Riley Devine, who had one goal. Devine scored on the power play 16:34 into the first period to make the score 3-1 St. Catharines. A head contact penalty on Yanni Rallis had put Fort Erie on the power play. Jordan Bailey provided the assist. Austin Carroll also scored for Fort Erie. More assists for Fort Erie came via Aaron Wanat, who had one and Dallas Ingram, who had two.

John D`llairo rejected 33 shots on goal for St. Catharines. The Falcons registered two goals on six power play opportunities. St. Catharines ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jackson was ejected from the game. Connor Visca recorded 29 saves for the Meteors. Fort Erie totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 2-for-7 on the power play. For the Meteors, Kyle Marino was ejected from the game.
