LaSalle downs Sarnia in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The LaSalle Vipers' Brendan McCann scored 3:22 into overtime to beat the Sarnia Legionnaires, 4-3 (OT).

LaSalle came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Vipers trailed 3-1 after a goal by Sarnia's Derek D`Andrea at 36 seconds in the third period. LaSalle knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Blake Jones at 19:26 in the third period.

The Vipers were led by McCann, who grabbed one goal.

LaSalle's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Sarnia power plays. The Vipers' offense rang up 40 shots on the Legionnaires' net.

LaSalle also got points from Ben Hanus, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. LaSalle also got a goal from Nathan Savage as well. Other players who recorded assists for LaSalle were Dylan Denomme, who had two and Chris Pignanelli, Brad Carroll, Brian Johnson, and Dylan Seguin, who each chipped in one.

Sarnia put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow LaSalle to score on any of its six power plays.

The Legionnaires were helped by Zack Tuchklaper, who racked up one goal. Tuchklaper scored 17:15 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Sarnia. Josh Kestner provided the assist. Sarnia additionally got points from D`Andrea, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Hunter Tyczynski also scored for Sarnia. More assists for Sarnia came via Jason Teschke, Brent Sauve, and PJ Vandervaart, who contributed one a piece.

Taylor Speed made 23 saves for the Vipers on 26 shots. LaSalle incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Sean Parker recorded 36 saves for Sarnia. The Legionnaires incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
