The Port Colborne Pirates survived a determined comeback attempt by the Stoney Creek Warriors on the way to a 3-1 win.

A goal by Pat Murphy put Port Colborne up 3-0 in the third period, but Stoney Creek pulled to within two on Lucas Triemstra's tally 14:04 into the third period.

The Warriors' power play was ineffective against the Pirates' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Port Colborne capitalized on Stoney Creek's penalties, netting three goals while skating with a man advantage. The Pirates struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 32 penalty minutes for 12 opposing power plays.
