Fraser - Coca-Cola    Sat, Feb 02, 2013

Behind a great game by Guy Soulliere, who had two goals, the Michigan Mountain Cats defeated the Metro Jets, 4-0.

Soulliere found the back of the net 8:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Michigan and again while on the power play 9:36 into the second to make the score 2-0 Michigan.

Spencer Craig frustrated Metro's offense all game, and stopped 36 shots en route to a shutout. Craig managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.26 prior to the game.

Michigan stifled the Jets' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Mountain Cats kept Metro's goalie busy throughout the game, and Trevor Kalinowski made 29 saves on 33 shots.

John Arms also scored for Michigan. In addition, Michigan received assists from Derek Ried, Austin Sartorius, Jeremy Cugliari, Alex Kopek, Kenny Simmons, and Ethan Baker, who contributed one a piece.

The Jets were held below their usual level of production. Metro puts an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. The Jets forced Michigan goalie Craig to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

The Mountain Cats totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. Metro totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play.
