St. Louis uses fast start to beat Battle Creek, 6-0

A four-goal first period deficit cost the Battle Creek Revolution, which could not recover and fell to the St. Louis Jr. Blues, 6-0.

St. Louis got the win thanks to a great game by Mike Lozano, who had two goals and one assist. Lozano scored the first of his two goals at 5:17 into the first period to make the score 2-0 St. Louis. Cody Guidorzi picked up the assist. Lozano's next tally made the score 6-0 St. Louis with 14:21 left in the third period. Brycon Johnson provided the assist.

The Jr. Blues' penalty kill excelled, as St. Louis gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Jr. Blues stifled Battle Creek's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. St. Louis kept the Revolution's goalie busy throughout the game, and Hughes made 47 saves on 53 shots.

St. Louis additionally got points from Kerry McGlynn, who also had one goal and one assist, Guidorzi, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Johnson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Trey Dodd also scored for St. Louis. More assists for St. Louis came via Lucas Stewart, who had two and Lukas Daniels and Jeremy Edwards, who each chipped in one.

Battle Creek could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Revolution put an average of 2.2 pucks into the net per game.

Clint Steinmeyer rejected 16 shots on goal for the Jr. Blues. St. Louis incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Battle Creek incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
