The Michigan Mountain Cats came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the Battle Creek Revolution, but did just enough to escape with a 5-3 victory. Michigan led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Mountain Cats' Guy Soulliere's scored at 14:47 in the third period to put Michigan up 4-1. Soulliere was all over the ice for the Mountain Cats, as he racked up two goals in the win. Battle Creek was unable to stop Michigan from sending pucks towards the net, and the Mountain Cats eventually piled up 42 shots on goal. Michigan found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Mountain Cats average 2.5 goals per contest. Michigan also got a goal from Kade Morrison as well. More assists for Michigan came via Marshall Helton, who had two and Derek Ried, Eric Keljo, Ben Mack, Austin Sartorius, Bryan Davis, and Kenny Simmons, who contributed one a piece. The Revolution stifled Michigan's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Battle Creek's offense rang up 34 shots on the Mountain Cats' net. The Revolution got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game. Battle Creek was led by Kyle Ward, who had three goals. Other players who recorded assists for Battle Creek were Joey Lioy, who had two and Austin Hill, Austin Maynard, and Stephen Comperchi, who each chipped in one. Spencer Craig recorded 31 saves for Michigan. The Mountain Cats incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Revolution's Jackson Steltmann stopped 37 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Battle Creek incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
