Franke stymies Cleveland, Flint wins 4-1

Anders Franke had a standout game with 31 saves, and the Flint Jr. Generals beat the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 4-1.

Flint was sparked by Jayson Lottes, who racked up one goal. Lottes scored 6:26 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Flint. Jacob Howie assisted on the tally.

The Jr. Generals' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Cleveland power plays. Flint forced Cleveland goalie David Heflin to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

Flint also got points from Nicholas Goetel, who also had one goal and one assist. Lucas McDiarimid also scored for Flint. Other players who recorded assists for Flint were Nicholas Gnagni, who had two and Adrain Larsson, Phillip Garza, and Austin Fletcher, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Lumberjacks' offense operated below they season average. Cleveland averages 4.6 goals per game. The Jr. Lumberjacks' offense rang up 32 shots on the Jr. Generals' net.

Cleveland also got a goal from Fred West as well. More assists for Cleveland came via Brad Hepler and Cameron Dimmitt, who contributed one a piece.

Flint incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Heflin recorded 34 saves for Cleveland. The Jr. Lumberjacks incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
