Alexandria blows out Breezy Point, 5-2Breezy Point Ice Arena Sun, Nov 18, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Alexandria Blizzard's Ian Eckland had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 5-2 win over the Breezy Point North Stars. Eckland's tallies came at 5:36 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Alexandria and 5:47 into the second to make the score 3-0 Alexandria.Alexandria pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 49 penalty minutes. The Blizzard's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Breezy Point power plays. Alexandria forced Breezy Point goalie Ian Shidlofsky to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. Alexandria additionally got points from Garrett Skinner, who also registered one goal and one assist. Mick Dhein also scored for Alexandria. More assists for Alexandria came via Will Becker, Kyle Kuntz, Ricky Seidel, and Joe Anderson, who each chipped in one. The North Stars excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Breezy Point's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the North Stars finished with 40 penalty minutes. Breezy Point also got a goal from Jared Naeve as well. Chase Wilson recorded 20 saves for the Blizzard. Alexandria ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Levi Erickson was ejected from the game. Breezy Point's Shidlofsky stopped 34 shots out of the 39 that he faced. For the North Stars, Brandon Adler was ejected from the game. |
