Skinner's big game bests Breezy Point in 9-0 Alexandria win

Garrett Skinner was all over the ice for the Alexandria Blizzard, as he tallied one goal and four assists in Alexandria's 9-0 win over the Breezy Point North Stars.

Skinner beat Erikur Arnason with a shot 11:43 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Alexandria. Joe Anderson assisted on the tally. Skinner dished an assist on Karson Kuntz's goal that made the score 4-0 Alexandria at 8:32 into the second period. He then added assists on Anderson's goal at 12:02 into the third, on Mick Dhein's goal at 14:32 into the third, and on Dhein's goal at 17:44 into the third.

The Blizzard excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Alexandria featured an improved defense during the game. The Blizzard average 2.3 goals allowed per game. Breezy Point was unable to stop Alexandria from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blizzard eventually piled up 45 shots on goal. Alexandria surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Blizzard average 3.7 goals per contest. Alexandria got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Alexandria additionally got points from Austin Rudnick, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Bryce Mitzel, who also had one goal and one assist, Danny Pelzer, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Dhein, who also tallied two goals and two assists, and Anderson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Alexandria also got a goal from Nate Mettenburg as well. More assists for Alexandria came via Spencer Peratalo, who had two and Chayce Coenen, Levi Erickson, Ritchie Brown, Kyle Kuntz, and Ricky Seidel, who contributed one a piece.

The North Stars found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere 11 shots against the Blizzard's defense.

Chase Wilson recorded 11 saves for Alexandria. The Blizzard incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Erikur Arnason made 36 saves for Breezy Point on 45 shots. The North Stars ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For Breezy Point, Connor Cooley was ejected from the game.
