Minnesota outlasts Breezy Point, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Minnesota Flying Aces escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Breezy Point North Stars.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Jared Sprink secured the win for Minnesota with a goal in the third period.

The Flying Aces got the win behind a great game by Sprink, who had two goals and one assist. Sprink scored the first of his two goals at 5:50 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Breezy Point. Dylan Nelson picked up the assist. Sprink's next tally made the score 3-2 Minnesota with 5:58 left in the third period.

Breezy Point's power play was ineffective against Minnesota's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Flying Aces forced the North Stars goalie Ian Shidlofsky to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Patrick Kegley also scored for Minnesota. Other players who recorded assists for Minnesota were Billy Wagner, Alec Brandup, and Chase Myers-Beck, who each chipped in one.

Breezy Point excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances.

The North Stars were helped by Evan Anderson, who registered one goal. Anderson scored 16:17 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Breezy Point. Kyle Whipple provided the assist. Breezy Point also got a goal from Spencer Bajko as well. More assists for Breezy Point came via Timothy Taylor, who had one.

Rocco Yapello rejected 16 shots on goal for Minnesota. The Flying Aces ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For Minnesota, Payton Trammel was ejected from the game. Ian Shidlofsky made 28 saves for Breezy Point on 32 shots. The North Stars incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
