Marshall, Twin City blank Minnesota, 5-0

Sawyer Marshall was superb between the pipes for the Twin City Steel, as he did not allow a goal in a 5-0 victory over the Minnesota Flying Aces.

Twin City was often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and one major for 39 minutes in penalty time. The Steel surpassed its season average of 26.0 penalty minutes per game. Twin City excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Steel kept Minnesota's goalie busy throughout the game, and Allen Patten made 31 saves on 36 shots.

Twin City was led by Trey Hughes, who registered one goal and two assists. Hughes scored 13:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Twin City. Tom Bartel assisted on the tally. Twin City also got points from Ryan McAloon, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Twin City also had goals scored by Nikolai Sherstiuk, who had one and Brody Peterson, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for Twin City were Kegan Storjohann, who had two and Nick Cerrato, Isaac Hale, and Nicholas Schreiner, who contributed one a piece.

The Flying Aces could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Minnesota puts an average of 2.4 pucks into the net per game. The Flying Aces forced the Steel goalie Marshall to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Sawyer Marshall made 35 saves for Twin City on 35 shots. The Steel registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. For Twin City, Sherstiuk was ejected from the game. Minnesota ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with nine minors and one major.
