Huge game by Anderson boosts Peoria over Quad City, 5-2

Brennan Anderson was all over the ice for the Peoria Mustangs, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Peoria's 5-2 win over the Quad City Jr. Flames.

Anderson scored at 22 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 Peoria and again while 18:22 into the third to make the score 5-2 Peoria.

The Mustangs pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 12 penalty minutes.

Peoria's offense rang up 38 shots on Quad City's net. The Mustangs got their opportunities on the power play, but did not convert any of their 10 chances.

Peoria additionally got points from Cory Kettler, who also racked up two goals and one assist. Peoria also got a goal from Joe Lampman as well. More assists for Peoria came via Austin Ziakas, who had two and Alexander Turin, Connor Millard, and Cody Lichtenvoort, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Flames stifled Peoria's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Quad City was helped by Luke Dickinson, who registered one goal. Dickinson scored 8:50 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Owen Ahlstrom picked up the assist. Anthony Caroselli also scored for Quad City. Other players who recorded assists for Quad City were Easton Halbert and Jake Wynd, who contributed one a piece.

The Mustangs' Michael Parda stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Robby Vukelich rejected 33 shots on goal for the Jr. Flames. Quad City incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
