Aberdeen's Baskin deadly on offense in 4-1 win against Coulee Region

Behind a great game by Erik Baskin, who had two goals, the Aberdeen Wings defeated the Coulee Region Chill, 4-1.

Baskin's tallies came on the power play at 15:54 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Aberdeen and 19:54 into the second to make the score 3-1 Aberdeen.

Aberdeen was led by goalie Zach Nagelvoort, who finished with 35 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Nagelvoort will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.1.

The Wings pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 12 penalty minutes.

Aberdeen's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Coulee Region power plays. The Wings put 39 shots on net during the contest, more than the 27.0 they average per game.

Aberdeen also got points from Kyle Haak, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Jonathan Grebosky, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Aberdeen received assists from Dylan Dailey, who had one.

Coulee Region's penalty kill was ineffective, and let in two goals to Aberdeen's power play unit. The Chill's offense rang up 36 shots on the Wings' net.

Coulee Region was led by Garrett Hendrickson, who scored the team's only goal. Hendrickson scored 13:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Coulee Region. James McGing provided the assist.

Tim Shaughnessy made 35 saves for the Chill on 39 shots. Coulee Region incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
