Wenatchee hangs on, beats Fresno 4-2

Max McHugh gave the Wenatchee Wild the lead in the first period, and the Fresno Monsters was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 4-2.

McHugh provided Wenatchee with the game-winning tally when he scored 10:56 into the the first period. Jono Davis picked up the assist.

The Wild got the win thanks to a great game by McHugh, who had two goals and one assist.

Wenatchee kept Fresno's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tomas Sholl made 46 saves on 50 shots.

Wenatchee also got a goal from David Mead as well. Other players who recorded assists for Wenatchee were Nicholas Kuchera and Noah Nelson, who each chipped in one and Joshua Hartley and Derick Kuchera, who contributed two a piece.

The Monsters excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Fresno was helped by Trevor Husch, who racked up one goal and one assist. Husch scored 5:28 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Wenatchee. Kyle Sucher provided the assist. Fresno also got points from Sucher, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Fresno received assists from Karl Andersen, who had two.

Robert Nichols made 18 saves for the Wild on 20 shots. Wenatchee incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Monsters incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
