Jamestown downs Michigan, 6-2

The Jamestown Ironmen took home the 6-2 victory over the Michigan Warriors.

Jamestown's goal total was higher than its season average. The Ironmen average 2.9 goals per game. Jamestown took advantage of Michigan's penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities. The Ironmen's offense was clicking better than usual and put 42 shots on goal during the game, better than the 31.1 shots per game they average.

Jamestown was helped by Ryan Doucet, who had one goal and one assist. Doucet scored 1:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Jamestown. Jamestown additionally got points from Huba Sekesi, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Ross Pavek, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Evan Ritt, who also had one goal and one assist. Jamestown also got a goal from Victor Johansson as well. More assists for Jamestown came via Matt Lanzillotti, Aaron Scheppelman, Nathan Ropelewski, Dylan Zink, Daniel Cesarz, and Luc Gerdes, who contributed one a piece.

The Warriors' offense rang up 33 shots on the Ironmen's net.

Michigan was led by Jon Farkas, who finished with one goal. Farkas scored 8:56 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Jamestown. Martin Gruse also scored for Michigan. In addition, Michigan received assists from Brock Labelle, who had one.

Joe Ballmer made 31 saves for Jamestown on 33 shots. The Ironmen incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Warriors took out Trevor Gorsuch after he had made 29 saves and installed Dillion Kelley in goal, where he finished with seven saves and the loss. Michigan incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
