The Wenatchee Wild relied on the scoring touch of Max McHugh, who netted two goals, to beat the Fresno Monsters, 5-1. McHugh found the back of the net 13:50 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Wenatchee and again while 7:04 into the third to make the score 4-1 Wenatchee.Wenatchee's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Fresno power plays. The Wild put 43 shots on net during the contest, more than the 29.1 they average per game. Nathan Flynn also scored for Wenatchee. More assists for Wenatchee came via Martin Keckes, Evan Schmidbauer, Jono Davis, and Brian Williams, who contributed one a piece and Nicholas Kuchera and Chris Kerr, who each chipped in two. Fresno excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Monsters were below their usual level of shot production, taking 15 shots compared to the 20.4 Fresno averages. The Monsters were led by Matt Salituro, who scored the team's only goal. Salituro scored 5:40 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Wenatchee. Justin Plate picked up the assist. Robert Nichols recorded 14 saves for Wenatchee. The Wild ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. Tomas Sholl rejected 38 shots on goal for Fresno. The Monsters ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
