Anderson's hat trick boosts Coulee Region over Austin, 3-2Omni Center Sat, Mar 09, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
A hat trick by Hunter Anderson was the highlight in Chill's 3-2 win against the Austin Bruins. Anderson got on the scoresheet 8:41 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:59 into the second and at 10:31 into the second.With 35 shots on target during the contest, the Coulee Region Chill exceeded the 25.3 shots they average per game this year. Brady Riesgraf also scored for Coulee Region. In addition, Coulee Region received assists from Andy Faust, who had two and Cory Lushanko and Mac Jansen, who each chipped in one. Austin kept Coulee Region's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tim Shaughnessy made 40 saves on 42 shots. The Bruins were helped by AJ Reid, who tallied one goal. Reid scored on the power play 2:39 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Coulee Region. Austin had gotten the advantage when the Chill's Sean Lang was sent off for roughing. Jay Dickman provided the assist. Austin also got a goal from CJ Smith as well. More assists for Austin came via Nolan Kirley, Drew Anderson, and John Simonson, who contributed one a piece. Coulee Region incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Bruins' Nicholas Lehr stopped 32 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Austin totaled 33 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. The Bruins ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kirley was ejected from the game. |
