Fairbanks' Hetz deadly on offense in 3-1 win against Wenatchee

Jacob Hetz was all over the ice for the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, as he tallied two goals in Fairbanks' 3-1 win over the Wenatchee Wild.

Hetz's tallies came at 2:29 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Fairbanks and 10:11 into the second to make the score 2-1 Fairbanks.

Wenatchee was stymied by the Ice Dogs netminder Steve Perry, who stopped 25 shots during the victory. Perry certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.21 entering the contest.

Fairbanks put 31 shots on net during the contest, more than the 28.1 it averages per game.

Max Birkinbine also scored for Fairbanks. Other players who recorded assists for Fairbanks were Garret Clemment and Kyle Lee, who contributed two a piece.

The Wild's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Fairbanks power plays. Wenatchee was held below its usual level of production. The Wild average 3.4 goals per game.

Wenatchee was led by Chris Kerr, who scored the team's only goal. Kerr scored 8:05 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Noah Nelson picked up the assist.

The Ice Dogs incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Robert Nichols recorded 28 saves for the Wild. Wenatchee incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
