Coulee Region beats Minot 3-0 as Shaughnessy gains shutoutMaysa Arena Sat, Feb 23, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Tim Shaughnessy made 39 saves to complete the shutout and led the Coulee Region Chill to a 3-0 win against the Minot Minotauros. Coulee Region pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes. The Chill's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Minot power plays. Coulee Region was helped by Andy Faust, who tallied one goal. Faust scored 5:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Coulee Region. Mac Jansen assisted on the tally. Coulee Region also got a goal from Aleksi Mustaniemi as well. Other players who recorded assists for Coulee Region were Derek OFlynn, Sean Lang, Kevin Becker, Hunter Anderson, and Cam Bleck, who each chipped in one. Minot did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Minotauros average 2.7 goals per game. Minot's offense rang up 39 shots on the Chill's net. The Minotauros were led by Jake OBorsky, who took five shots. Coulee Region registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Tyler Parks rejected 21 shots on goal for Minot. The Minotauros incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
