Michigan falls to Kalamazoo in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

Mike Fazio gave the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings a 2-1 (OT) victory over the Michigan Warriors when he scored 43 seconds into the extra period.

Kalamazoo's Alex Okicki was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 40 saves and let only one puck past him. Okicki certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.73 entering the contest.

The Jr. K-Wings were led by Fazio, who had one goal.

Kalamazoo forced Michigan goalie Trevor Gorsuch to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Kalamazoo additionally got points from Robbie Payne, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for Kalamazoo came via Sam Johnson, Christian George, and Danny Hamburg, who each chipped in one.

The Warriors' offense rang up 41 shots on the Jr. K-Wings' net.

Michigan was led by AJ Marcinek, who scored the team's only goal. Marcinek scored on the power play 23 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Connor Lyons assisted on the tally.

Kalamazoo totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. Gorsuch rejected 31 shots on goal for the Warriors. Michigan totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play.
