Huge game by Koritzinsky boosts Janesville over Port Huron, 5-2

The Janesville Jets' Todd Koritzinsky had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 5-2 win over the Port Huron Fighting Falcons.

Koritzinsky's tallies came on the power play at 8:12 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Janesville and 19:20 into the third to make the score 5-2 Janesville.

Port Huron's power play was ineffective against Janesville's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Jets forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 10 minors and one major for 35 minutes in penalty time. Janesville had been averaging 23.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Jets outdid their season average for goals scored. Janesville has scored at the pace of 2.4 goals per game during the current campaign. The Jets put 33 shots on net during the contest, more than the 21.8 they average per game.

Janesville additionally got points from Zach Diamantoni, who also had two goals and one assist and Jason Ford, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Janesville received assists from Kucerovy, Alec Vanko, and Mike Sullivan, who each chipped in one and Pedlan Ruslan and Dan Litchke, who contributed two a piece.

Port Huron also got points from Spezia, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Port Huron were Jonathan Kopacka, who had one and Easton Powers, who had two.

Brock Kautz rejected 36 shots on goal for the Jets. Janesville registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Max Milosek recorded 28 saves for Port Huron.
