Shaughnessy leads Coulee Region to shutout victory over Minot

The Coulee Region Chill used a sparkling performance by Tim Shaughnessy to take down the Minot Minotauros, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Coulee Region's 3-0 shutout victory.

The Chill were led by Cory Lushanko, who finished with one goal. Lushanko scored 2:18 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Coulee Region. Derek Smith assisted on the tally.

By firing 48 shots on goal, Coulee Region exceeded the 26.2 shots it averages per game this year.

Coulee Region also got a goal from Mac Jansen as well. In addition, Coulee Region received assists from Brady Riesgraf, Sean Lang, James McGing, Max Zebro, and Cam Bleck, who contributed one a piece.

Minot's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Coulee Region power plays. The Minotauros' offense operated below they season average. Minot puts an average of 2.7 pucks into the net per game. With 30 shots on target during the contest, the Minotauros exceeded the 22.7 shots they average per game this year.

Minot was led by Jake OBorsky, who took five shots.

Shaughnessy rejected 30 shots on goal for the Chill. Coulee Region ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. Ryan Ruck made 45 saves for the Minotauros on 48 shots. Minot totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
