Kalamazoo falls to Janesville in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Janesville Jets' Cole Pierce scored 3:28 into overtime to beat the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings, 3-2 (OT).

Kucerovy had two goals to lead Janesville to victory. Kucerovy found the back of the net 4:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Janesville and again while 12:55 into the second to make the score 2-1 Janesville.

The Jets put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Kalamazoo to score on any of its four power plays. With 34 shots on target during the contest, Janesville exceeded the 22.0 shots it averages per game this year.

Other players who recorded assists for Janesville were Conor Lemirande, who had two and Bryan Kronberger, Zach Diamantoni, and Jason Ford, who each chipped in one.

The Jets were unable to stop the Jr. K-Wings from sending pucks towards the net, and Kalamazoo eventually piled up 47 shots on goal.

The Jr. K-Wings were helped by Taylor Burden, who finished with one goal. Burden scored 1:22 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Kyle Gattelaro provided the assist. Kalamazoo also got a goal from Lucas Kohls as well. In addition, Kalamazoo received assists from Trevor Boyd and Nick Kovalchik, who contributed one a piece.

Brock Kautz rejected 45 shots on goal for Janesville. The Jets incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Alex Okicki recorded 31 saves for Kalamazoo. The Jr. K-Wings incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
