Aberdeen holds on for 6-4 win against Coulee RegionOmni Center Sat, Feb 09, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Aberdeen Wings survived a determined comeback attempt by the Coulee Region Chill on the way to a 6-4 win. Aberdeen made the score 6-3 on a goal by Jonathan Grebosky at 11:55 in the third period, and Coulee Region got as close as 6-4 when Derek OFlynn scored 19:53 into the third period. Grebosky had two goals and two assists to lead the Wings. Grebosky scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 10:28 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Aberdeen. A slashing penalty on Andy Faust had put Aberdeen on the power play. Erik Baskin picked up the assist. Grebosky's next tally on the power play made the score Aberdeen with 8:05 left in the third period. Kyle Haak provided the assist. The Wings outdid their season average for goals scored. Aberdeen averages 2.4 goals per game. With 44 shots on target during the contest, the Wings exceeded the 25.7 shots they average per game this year. Aberdeen also got points from Patrick Steinhauser, who also finished with one goal and three assists and Haak, who also registered one goal and two assists. Aberdeen also got a goal from Justin Parizek as well. Other players who recorded assists for Aberdeen were Jake Horton and Dylan Dailey, who each chipped in one. The Chill forced Aberdeen goalie Zach Nagelvoort to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Cam Bleck also scored for Coulee Region. In addition, Coulee Region received assists from Kevin Becker, James McGing, Jesse Tredinnick, Mac Jansen, Eddie Matsushima, and Hunter Anderson, who contributed one a piece. Zach Nagelvoort made 27 saves for the Wings on 31 shots. Aberdeen incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Coulee Region's Tim Shaughnessy stopped 38 shots out of the 44 that he faced. The Chill incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
