Amarillo blows out Wichita Falls, 7-2

The Amarillo Bulls had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-2 win over the Wichita Falls Wildcats.

Blake Roubos was all over the ice for Amarillo, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Roubos scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 11:39 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Amarillo. A head contact penalty on Charles Hemstrom had put the Bulls on the power play. Joe Grabowski picked up the assist. Roubos' next tally on the power play made the score 3-0 Amarillo with 2:57 left in the first period. TJ Sarcona assisted on the tally.

Amarillo surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Bulls average 4.1 goals per game. Amarillo cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring three goals on three chances. The 42 shots that the Bulls put on net surpassed Amarillo's average of 32.7 shots per game this season.

Amarillo also got points from Sarcona, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Amarillo also got a goal from Dan McNamara as well. More assists for Amarillo came via Geoff Fortman, Tyler Deresky, Tyler Gernhofer, Brady Ferguson, Tyler Rostenkowski, and Matt Sieckhaus, who contributed one a piece and Ryan Cole and Hampus Gustafsson, who each chipped in two.

Paul Berrafato made 26 saves for the Bulls on 28 shots. Amarillo incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Cooper Cook rejected 35 shots on goal for Wichita Falls. The Wildcats totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. Wichita Falls ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Hemstrom was ejected from the game.
