Brookings completes comeback, beats Austin, 4-3Larson Ice Center Red Fri, Feb 01, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Brookings Blizzard rallied from two goals down to secure a 4-3 win over the Austin Bruins. Brookings never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Blizzard trailed 3-1 after a goal by Austin's AJ Reid at 14:30 in the first period. Brookings tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Adam Cavalinni at 17:46 in the second period. The Blizzard got the game winner at 5:43 in the third period on a goal by Cavalinni. Brookings relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Thomas Williams, Evan Hesse and Cavalinni took 18 of the team's 34 shots. The Blizzard were helped by Eetu Karvinen, who had one goal and one assist. Brookings additionally got points from Cavalinni, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Matt Youso also scored for Brookings. In addition, Brookings received assists from Nick DeCenzo, who had two and Jared Docken, Drew Brevig, Brandon Parker, and Reed Whiteside, who each chipped in one. The Bruins relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Reid, Riley Colvard and Jay Dickman took 16 of the team's 30 shots. More assists for Austin came via Brandon Wahlin and Ladislav Zikmund, who contributed one a piece. Brookings' Drew Weigman stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Blizzard incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jason Pawloski rejected 30 shots on goal for Austin. The Bruins incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. |
