Austin beats Minot 3-0 as Pawloski gains shutout

Jason Pawloski was superb between the pipes for the Austin Bruins, as he did not allow a goal in a 3-0 victory over the Minot Minotauros.

Austin was sparked by Josh Bretner, who registered one goal. Bretner scored short handed 16:53 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Austin. The Bruins found themselves down a man on Brandon Wahlin's high sticking.

Austin excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Bruins was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. Austin gives up 2.5 goals on average per game. The Bruins forced Minot goalie Ryan Ruck to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Austin also got a goal from AJ Reid as well. More assists for Austin came via Drew Anderson, CJ Smith, and Jay Dickman, who contributed one a piece.

The Minotauros' offense operated below they season average. Minot puts an average of 2.8 pucks into the net per game.

The Minotauros were led by Jake OBorsky, who took five shots.

Austin's Pawloski stopped 25 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Bruins incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Ryan Ruck made 28 saves for Minot on 31 shots. The Minotauros incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
