Michigan's comeback falls short, Port Huron wins 3-2

The Port Huron Fighting Falcons, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Port Huron and clinched a 3-2 victory.

The Fighting Falcons led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Port Huron's Matthew Uvodich's scored at 18:25 in the first period to put the Fighting Falcons up 3-0.

The 38 shots that Port Huron put on net surpassed the Fighting Falcons' average of 26.8 shots per game this season.

Port Huron was helped by Bryan Yim, who registered one goal. Yim scored 8:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Huron. Kody Polin also scored for Port Huron. In addition, Port Huron received assists from Easton Powers, Kyle Plageman, and Nick Horne, who contributed one a piece.

The Michigan Warriors excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Michigan was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 20 penalty minutes.

The Warriors were helped by Martin Gruse, who grabbed one goal. Gruse scored 13:51 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Port Huron. Michigan also got a goal from Jon Farkas as well. More assists for Michigan came via Corey Schueneman and Shawn Badali, who each chipped in one.

Max Milosek made 19 saves for the Fighting Falcons on 21 shots. Port Huron incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Trevor Gorsuch recorded 35 saves for Michigan. The Warriors registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
