Pawloski leads Austin to shutout victory over Minot

Jason Pawloski made 33 saves to complete the shutout and led the Austin Bruins to a 5-0 win against the Minot Minotauros.

Austin was led by Easton Viitala, who finished with one goal. Viitala scored 13:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Austin. Nate Mondry provided the assist.

The Bruins put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Minot to score on any of its four power plays. Austin was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Bruins gives up 2.6 goals on average per game. Austin put 39 shots on net during the contest, more than the 30.0 it averages per game.

Austin also got points from Cody Dixon, who also registered one goal and one assist. Austin also had goals scored by Riley Colvard, who had one and John Simonson, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for Austin were CJ Smith, who had three and Josh Bretner, AJ Reid, Brandon Wahlin, and Jake Arroyo, who each chipped in one.

The Minotauros' offense operated below they season average. Minot averages 2.9 goals per game. The Minotauros' offense rang up 33 shots on the Bruins' net.

Minot was led by Jake OBorsky, who took five shots.

Austin totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Tyler Parks rejected 34 shots on goal for the Minotauros. Minot ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
