Bismarck beats Aberdeen 3-2 after comeback scareOdde Ice Center Fri, Jan 25, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Bismarck Bobcats survived a determined comeback attempt by the Aberdeen Wings on the way to a 3-2 win. A goal by Patrick Moore put Bismarck up 3-0 in the second period, but Aberdeen pulled to within one on Emil Blomqvist's tally 7:55 into the third period. The Bobcats stifled the Wings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Bismarck's offense was clicking better than usual and put 32 shots on goal during the game, better than the 23.4 shots per game it averages. The Bobcats were helped by Cory Chapman, who grabbed one goal. Chapman scored 8:41 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Bismarck. Filip Starzynski provided the assist. Travis Underwood also scored for Bismarck. In addition, Bismarck received assists from Chris Diver, Adam Knochenmus, Joe Giordano, Sam Wolfe, and Matt Anders, who contributed one a piece. Aberdeen kept Bismarck's goalie busy throughout the game, and Bryan Nies made 39 saves on 41 shots. Aberdeen also got a goal from Justin Parizek as well. Other players who recorded assists for Aberdeen were Jake Horton, Kyle Haak, and Peter Krieger, who each chipped in one. The Bobcats incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Wings' Chad Catt stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Aberdeen incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
