The Michigan Warriors relied on the scoring touch of Connor Lyons, who netted two goals, to beat the Johnstown Tomahawks, 3-1.

Lyons scored on the power play at 13:24 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 19:02 into the third to make the score 3-1 Michigan.

Michigan was led by goalie Trevor Gorsuch, who finished with 47 saves while allowing one goal. Gorsuch managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.67 prior to the game.

The Warriors pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 34 penalty minutes.

AJ Marcinek also scored for Michigan. In addition, Michigan received assists from Sean Campbell, Levi Erkkila, Martin Gruse, Darren McCormick, Joshua Shellman, and Brad Pizzey, who each chipped in one.

Johnstown was held below its usual level of production. The Tomahawks average 3.1 goals per game. Johnstown's offense rang up 48 shots on Michigan's net.

The Tomahawks were led by Jordan Watt, who scored the team's only goal. Watt scored on the power play 10:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Johnstown. Johnstown had gotten the advantage when the Warriors' Campbell was sent off for hooking. Ian Spencer picked up the assist.

Michigan registered one goal on three power play opportunities. For the Warriors, Robert Click was ejected from the game. Chris Truehl recorded 23 saves for the Tomahawks. Johnstown totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play.
