Wichita Falls hangs on, beats Corpus Christi 1-0

The Wichita Falls Wildcats took the lead against the Corpus Christi IceRays in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 1-0 victory.

A goal 5:08 into the the first period by Kyle Bauman proved to be the game winner, and powered Wichita Falls to the victory Jake Townsend assisted on the tally.

The Wildcats were led by Bauman, who registered one goal.

With 34 shots on target during the contest, Wichita Falls exceeded the 27.6 shots it averages per game this year.

Corpus Christi stifled the Wildcats' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The IceRays did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Corpus Christi averages 3.0 goals per game.

The IceRays were led by Michael Economos, who took four shots.

Evan Cowley made 24 saves for Wichita Falls on 24 shots. The Wildcats incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Hayden Stewart rejected 33 shots on goal for Corpus Christi. The IceRays incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
