Minot beats Coulee Region 4-0 as Parks gains shutoutOmni Center Sat, Jan 12, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Minot Minotauros used a sparkling performance by Tyler Parks to take down the Coulee Region Chill, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Minot's 4-0 shutout victory. The Minotauros were led by Mason Morelli, who finished with one goal. Morelli scored on the power play 8:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Minot. A hooking penalty on Matt Williams had put Minot on the power play. Jake OBorsky picked up the assist. The Minotauros put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Coulee Region to score on any of its four power plays. Minot featured an improved defense during the game. The Minotauros average 2.9 goals allowed per game. Minot's offense was clicking better than usual and put 30 shots on goal during the game, better than the 24.2 shots per game it averages. Minot also got points from Lucas Oliver, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Cameron Rowat also scored for Minot. More assists for Minot came via Zack Holstrom, who had two and Matt Audette, Scott Dornbrock, Seth Blair, and Beau Ricketts, who each chipped in one. The Chill's offense operated below they season average. Coulee Region averages 2.6 goals per game. By firing 33 shots on goal, the Chill exceeded the 26.0 shots they average per game this year. Coulee Region was led by Sean Lang, who took eight shots. The Minotauros' Parks stopped 33 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Minot incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
