Bismarck wins tough contest against Aberdeen, 4-2

The Bismarck Bobcats gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Aberdeen Wings.

Bismarck gained the winning advantage on a goal by Stanislav Dzakhov 8:03 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

The Bobcats were led by Dzakhov, who grabbed one goal.

Bismarck's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Aberdeen power plays. The Bobcats' offense was clicking better than usual and put 30 shots on goal during the game, better than the 25.4 shots per game they average.

Bismarck additionally got points from Adam Knochenmus, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Patrick Moore, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Cory Chapman also scored for Bismarck. In addition, Bismarck received assists from Rory Vesel, Jeremy OKeefe, Mike Dockry, and Matt Anders, who each chipped in one.

Aberdeen was helped by Erik Baskin, who had one goal. Baskin scored 10:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aberdeen. Steven Johnson assisted on the tally. Aberdeen also got a goal from Justin Parizek as well. Other players who recorded assists for Aberdeen were Jordan Heller, Peter Krieger, and Tanner Holmquist, who contributed one a piece.

Bismarck's Aaron Nelson stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Bobcats incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jordyn Kaufer rejected 26 shots on goal for the Wings. Aberdeen incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
