Kenai River downs Fresno in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Kenai River Brown Bears' Alex Jackstadt scored 4:24 into overtime to beat the Fresno Monsters, 5-4 (OT).

Kenai River's penalty kill unit could not stop Fresno's power play, which converted on three of five opportunities. The Brown Bears put 35 shots on net during the contest, more than the 20.6 they average per game.

Kenai River also got a goal from Brad Duwe as well. More assists for Kenai River came via Jake Bushey and Zac Lazzaro, who contributed one a piece and Ryan Walker, Alec Butcher, and Chris Nuth, who each chipped in two.

The Monsters relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Mitchell Snyder, Kyle Buffardi and Dan Sherer took 17 of the team's 33 shots.

Fresno also got points from Sherer, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Gordon Wells also scored for Fresno. Other players who recorded assists for Fresno were Andrew Herlofsky, who had one, Newton Fuller, who had two, and Matt Salituro, who had three.

Evan McCarthy recorded 29 saves for Kenai River. The Brown Bears incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Fresno's Macauley Haight stopped 30 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Monsters incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
