The game between the Michigan Warriors and the Johnstown Tomahawks was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Michigan emerged with a 4-2 win. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and AJ Marcinek's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. The Warriors were sparked by Marcinek, who registered one goal. Marcinek scored short handed 18:55 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Michigan. Michigan was on a disadvantage when Brock Labelle went off the ice for tripping. The Warriors excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Michigan put 35 shots on net during the contest, more than the 28.1 it averages per game. Sean Campbell also scored for Michigan. In addition, Michigan received assists from Ryan Dougherty, who had two and Jon Farkas and Connor Lyons, who contributed one a piece. Johnstown was helped by Mitch Kontny, who finished with one goal. Kontny scored 9:44 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Johnstown. Jaycob McCombs picked up the assist. Johnstown also got a goal from Brandon Reinholz as well. More assists for Johnstown came via JB Baker, who had two. Trevor Gorsuch recorded 21 saves for the Warriors.
