Bismarck hangs on, beats Minot 2-0

Cory Chapman gave the Bismarck Bobcats the lead in the first period, and the Minot Minotauros was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 2-0.

Chapman provided Bismarck with the game-winning tally when he scored 5:12 into the the first period. Levi Blom provided the assist.

The Bobcats pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 16 penalty minutes.

Bismarck was led by Chapman, who had one goal.

The Bobcats excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Bismarck's defensive play was more effective than usual against Minot. The Bobcats average 2.3 goals allowed per game. Bismarck put 28 shots on net during the contest, more than the 25.2 it averages per game.

Bismarck also got a goal from Patrick Moore as well. In addition, Bismarck received assists from Chris Diver, Jeremy OKeefe, and Mike Dockry, who each chipped in one.

The Minotauros' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Bismarck power plays. Minot could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Minotauros average 2.9 goals per game. Minot was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 36 penalty minutes.

The Minotauros were led by Lucas Oliver, who took three shots.

Aaron Nelson recorded 19 saves for the Bobcats. Minot's Tyler Parks stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that he faced.
