Brookings downs Aberdeen in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Brookings Blizzard pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Aberdeen Wings on a clutch goal by Drew Brevig.

Brookings was sparked by Brevig, who finished with one goal. Brevig scored 2:30 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Brookings. Thomas Williams picked up the assist.

The Blizzard's offense was clicking better than usual and put 42 shots on goal during the game, better than the 24.0 shots per game they average.

Emil Blomqvist also scored for Brookings. In addition, Brookings received assists from Jordan Stejskal, James McGing, Craig Lindegard, and Tyler Cayemberg, who each chipped in one.

Aberdeen was helped by Jonathan Grebosky, who had one goal. Grebosky scored 7:14 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Justin Parizek assisted on the tally. Aberdeen also got points from Parizek, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Aberdeen were Peter Krieger and Erik Baskin, who contributed one a piece.

Brookings' Erick Majerle stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Blizzard totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Jared Stearns made 39 saves for the Wings on 42 shots. Aberdeen totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
