Amarillo outlasts Wichita Falls, 5-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Amarillo Bulls escaped with a 5-3 victory over the Wichita Falls Wildcats.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Travis Underwood secured the win for Amarillo with a goal in the third period.

The Bulls was paced on offense by Ryan Cole and Underwood, who combined for four points. Cole racked up two goals and Underwood also added one goal and one assist.

Amarillo stifled Wichita Falls' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bulls' offense rang up 32 shots on the Wildcats' net.

Amarillo additionally got points from TJ Sarcona, who also had one goal and one assist and Underwood, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Brady Ferguson also scored for Amarillo. In addition, Amarillo received assists from Geoff Fortman, who had two and Gage Christianson, Tyler Gernhofer, Omar Mullan, Mike Davis, and Joe Grabowski, who each chipped in one.

Wichita Falls was led by Matt Robinson, who registered two goals. Robinson scored the first of his two goals at 7:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wichita Falls. Daniel Vaysberg assisted on the tally. Robinson's next tally made the score 2-0 Wichita Falls with 4:12 left in the first period. O'Neal L picked up the assist. Wichita Falls also got a goal from George Pagonis as well. More assists for Wichita Falls came via Will Vosejpka, who had one.

Paul Berrafato made 14 saves before being replaced by Chad Catt, who took the win and made 11 saves. Amarillo incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Evan Cowley made 27 saves for the Wildcats on 31 shots. Wichita Falls incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
