Texas downs Corpus Christi, 4-1

Leo Lumm grabbed one point to lead the Texas Tornado to a 4-1 victory over the Corpus Christi IceRays.

Texas got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. The Tornado's offense was clicking better than usual and put 38 shots on goal during the game, better than the 30.0 shots per game they average.

Nick Neville also scored for Texas. In addition, Texas received assists from Jackson Leef, Andrew Mayer, Brett Heikkila, and CJ Reuschlein, who each chipped in one and Scott Conway and Jason Eddy, who contributed two a piece.

Corpus Christi was led by Eric Purcell, who took two shots.

Texas' Hunter Leisner stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Tornado totaled 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors and went 1-for-2 on the power play. The IceRays' starting goalie, Hayden Stewart, made 26 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Ben Myers, who stopped eight shots. Corpus Christi totaled 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
