Amarillo downs Odessa, 5-0

TJ Sarcona had two points to lead the Amarillo Bulls to a 5-0 victory over the Odessa Jackalopes.

Amarillo racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and two majors for 22 minutes in penalty time. The Bulls had been averaging 19.0 minutes in penalties per game. Amarillo stifled Odessa's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. With 57 shots on target during the contest, the Bulls exceeded the 33.4 shots they average per game this year.

Amarillo additionally got points from John Rey, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Ryan Stevens, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Amarillo also got a goal from Connor Frey as well. Other players who recorded assists for Amarillo were Gage Christianson, who had two and Tyler Deresky, Tyler Gernhofer, Ryan Cole, and Matt Sieckhaus, who contributed one a piece.

The Jackalopes put 23 shots on net during the contest, more than the 15.5 they average per game. Odessa could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Jackalopes were led by Taylor Portner, who took five shots.

Collin Delia recorded 23 saves for Amarillo. The Bulls registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Phil Heinle took the loss and made 36 saves before being replaced by Nick Deery who made 16 saves. Odessa registered zero goals on five power play opportunities.
