Moore's big game bests Coulee Region in 5-2 Bismarck win

The Bismarck Bobcats' Patrick Moore had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 5-2 win over the Coulee Region Chill.

Moore found the back of the net 8:19 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Bismarck and again while on the power play 10:24 into the third to make the score 3-1 Bismarck.

Bismarck's goal total was higher than its season average. The Bobcats average 2.8 goals per game. With 34 shots on target during the contest, Bismarck exceeded the 24.5 shots it averages per game this year.

Bismarck also got points from Joe Giordano, who also had one goal and one assist and Shane Omdahl, who also registered one goal and one assist. Cory Chapman also scored for Bismarck. More assists for Bismarck came via Adam Knochenmus, who had four and Mike Dockry, Nate Repensky, and Bob Kinne, who each chipped in one.

The Bobcats were unable to stop Coulee Region from sending pucks towards the net, and the Chill eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Coulee Region was helped by Mac Jansen, who tallied one goal. Jansen scored on the power play 15:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Coulee Region. The Chill earned a power play opportunity when Sam Wolfe was put in the box for high sticking. Sean Lang assisted on the tally. Coulee Region also got a goal from Cory Lushanko as well. In addition, Coulee Region received assists from Derek Smith, Eddie Matsushima, and Matt Williams, who contributed one a piece.

Bryan Nies made 31 saves for Bismarck on 33 shots. The Bobcats incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Blake Cates recorded 29 saves for Coulee Region. The Chill incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
