Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Bismarck Bobcats defeated the Minot Minotauros in a shootout 3-2 (3-2 SO). The shootout lasted for 10 attempts between the teams. Minot's shootout goals were scored by Cameron Rowat and Matt Audette. Bismarck also got shootout goals from Mike Dockry and Patrick Moore.The Bobcats' offense was clicking better than usual and put 40 shots on goal during the game, better than the 24.0 shots per game they average. Bismarck could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game. The Bobcats were helped by Moore, who tallied one goal. Moore scored on the power play 11:39 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Bismarck. Bismarck had taken the advantage when the Minotauros' Chance Crregger got sent off for roughing. Adam Knochenmus provided the assist. Sam Wolfe also scored for Bismarck. In addition, Bismarck received assists from Bob Kinne, Shane Omdahl, and Cory Chapman, who contributed one a piece. By firing 33 shots on goal, Minot exceeded the 24.3 shots it averages per game this year. The Minotauros found themselves short handed often, totaling 28 penalty minutes and allowing four power plays. Minot was helped by Lucas Oliver, who had one goal. Oliver scored on the power play 12:34 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Bismarck. Audette picked up the assist. Minot also got a goal from Rowat as well. More assists for Minot came via Scott Dornbrock and Beau Ricketts, who each chipped in one. Aaron Nelson made 31 saves for the Bobcats on 33 shots. Tyler Parks rejected 37 shots on goal for the Minotauros. Minot registered two goals on six power play opportunities.
