Topeka falls to Amarillo in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Amarillo Bulls pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Topeka RoadRunners on a clutch goal by John Rey.

Mike Davis was all over the ice for Amarillo, as he tallied two goals in the win. Davis found the back of the net 13:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Amarillo and again while on the power play 6:10 into the second to make the score 2-1 Amarillo.

The defense for the Bulls played an important role offensively, racking up 13 shots on goal.

Other players who recorded assists for Amarillo were Omar Mullan, who had two and Brady Ferguson, TJ Sarcona, and Ryan Cole, who contributed one a piece.

Topeka averages 26.4 shots on goal per game, but only sent 20 pucks on net against Amarillo.

The RoadRunners were helped by Kyle Sharkey, who finished with one goal. Sharkey scored on the power play 17:29 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Topeka had taken the advantage when the Bulls' Tyler Rostenkowski got sent off for roughing. Tyler Andrew provided the assist. Topeka also got points from Sean Gaffney, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Topeka received assists from Brandon Brossoit, who had one.

Chad Catt recorded 18 saves for Amarillo. The Bulls incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The RoadRunners' Spencer Viele stopped 26 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Topeka incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
