Michigan falls to Port Huron in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Port Huron Fighting Falcons' Payden Mielke scored 4:42 into overtime to beat the Michigan Warriors, 3-2 (OT).

Port Huron was led by Mielke, who had one goal.

The Fighting Falcons excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Port Huron put 43 shots on net during the contest, more than the 27.2 it averages per game.

Port Huron also got a goal from Matthew Uvodich as well. More assists for Port Huron came via Brett DAndrea, who had two and Ryan Nick, Dunk Abbott, Ian Miller, and Nick Horne, who each chipped in one.

Michigan forced the Fighting Falcons goalie Max Milosek to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

The Warriors were helped by Heinz Koster, who registered one goal. Koster scored 18:29 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Michigan. Joshua Shellman picked up the assist. Shawn Badali also scored for Michigan. In addition, Michigan received assists from Zach OHara, Zack Szajner, and Brad Pizzey, who contributed one a piece.

Milosek rejected 34 shots on goal for Port Huron. The Fighting Falcons incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Trevor Gorsuch recorded 40 saves for Michigan. The Warriors incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
