Janesville survives Coulee Region comeback, wins 3-1

The Coulee Region Chill tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Janesville Jets would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-1.

Janesville took a 3-0 lead during the second period, only to have Coulee Region storm back on a Zach Doerring goal 15:58 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

The Jets' Brock Kautz was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 27 saves and let only one puck past him. Kautz managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.59 prior to the game.

By firing 29 shots on goal, Janesville exceeded the 19.5 shots it averages per game this year.

The Jets were led by Pedlan Ruslan, who finished with one goal and two assists. Ruslan scored on the power play 16:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Janesville. Janesville had taken the advantage when the Chill's Andy Faust got sent off for kneeing. Zach Diamantoni picked up the assist. Janesville also got points from Kucerovy, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Diamantoni, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Janesville were Jason Ford and Conor Lemirande, who contributed one a piece.

More assists for Coulee Region came via Hunter Anderson, who had one.

The Jets incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Blake Cates rejected 26 shots on goal for Coulee Region. The Chill incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
