Behind a great game by Justin Greenberg, who had two goals and one assist, the Texas Tornado defeated the Odessa Jackalopes, 6-3.

Greenberg's tallies came at 17:56 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and 19:17 into the third to make the score 6-3 Texas.

Texas was often in penalty trouble, totaling 10 minors and one major for 35 minutes in penalty time. The Tornado had been averaging 21.0 minutes in penalties per game. Texas found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Tornado average 3.7 goals per contest. The 35 shots that Texas put on net surpassed the Tornado's average of 29.7 shots per game this season.

Texas also got points from Jason Eddy, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Texas also got a goal from Alex Temby as well. In addition, Texas received assists from Jackson Leef, who had two and Nick Neville, Andrew Mayer, Mitchell Mueller, and CJ Reuschlein, who contributed one a piece.

The Odessa penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled nine minors and one major for 23 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 20.0 minutes per game the Jackalopes had been spending in the box. Odessa put 28 shots on net during the contest, more than the 20.5 it averages per game. Team could not crack Texas' penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having nine opportunities to play with the man advantage.

The Jackalopes were helped by Zane Popilock, who registered one goal. Popilock scored on the power play 8:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Odessa. A tripping penalty on Michael Hoy had put Odessa on the power play. Lawrence Cornellier picked up the assist. Odessa additionally got points from Jalen Krogman, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Anthony Olguin also scored for Odessa. More assists for Odessa came via Ryan Doucet, Steven Haydon, and Matt Volonnino, who each chipped in one.

Hunter Leisner made 25 saves for the Tornado on 28 shots. Texas registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. Blake Wojtala rejected 29 shots on goal for the Jackalopes.
