Amarillo wins tough contest against Corpus Christi, 4-2

The Amarillo Bulls gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Corpus Christi IceRays.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Tyler Rostenkowski secured the win for Amarillo with a goal in the second period.

The Bulls were paced by Rostenkowski, who registered one goal. Rostenkowski scored 16:21 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Amarillo. Tyler Deresky assisted on the tally.

Amarillo excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Carter Penzien also scored for Amarillo. More assists for Amarillo came via Matt Sieckhaus, who had two and Connor Frey, John Rey, and Omar Mullan, who each chipped in one.

Corpus Christi relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Eric Purcell, Rudy Sulmonde and Perry DArrisso took 16 of the team's 26 shots.

Other players who recorded assists for Corpus Christi were AJ Jarosz and Emil Romig, who contributed one a piece.

The Bulls' Paul Berrafato stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Amarillo incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Hayden Stewart rejected 26 shots on goal for the IceRays. Corpus Christi incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
