Corpus Christi downs Kenai River in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Corpus Christi IceRays' Rudy Sulmonde scored 25 seconds into overtime to beat the Kenai River Brown Bears, 3-2 (OT).

Corpus Christi was led by Sulmonde, who finished with one goal and one assist.

The IceRays put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Kenai River to score on any of its four power plays. Corpus Christi put 40 shots on net during the contest, more than the 26.6 it averages per game.

Corpus Christi also got a goal from Perry DArrisso as well. Other players who recorded assists for Corpus Christi were Emil Romig, who had two and AJ Jarosz and Michael Economos, who each chipped in one.

The Brown Bears forced the IceRays goalie Ben Myers to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Kenai River was helped by Albin Karlsson, who registered one goal. Karlsson scored 16:14 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kenai River. Vincent Stefan provided the assist. Dylan Meier also scored for Kenai River. More assists for Kenai River came via Connor McGovern and Brian Berry, who contributed one a piece.

Ben Myers made 32 saves for Corpus Christi on 34 shots. The IceRays incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Sean Healy rejected 37 shots on goal for the Brown Bears. Kenai River incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
