Fairbanks boosted by Aldridge's play in net, beats Wichita Falls 2-1

Kevin Aldridge stood on his head and made 30 saves to lead the Fairbanks Ice Dogs to a 2-1 victory over the Wichita Falls Wildcats.

Fairbanks was sparked by Garret Clemment, who racked up one goal and one assist. Clemment scored on the power play 17:00 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Fairbanks. The Ice Dogs had gotten the advantage when Wichita Falls' Will Vosejpka was sent off for tripping. Doug Rose provided the assist.

Fairbanks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Ice Dogs failed to reach their usual level of shot production, putting 20 pucks on goal after averaging 28.1 shots per game this season.

Brett Gervais also scored for Fairbanks. In addition, Fairbanks received assists from Duggie Lagrone and Nick Hinz, who each chipped in one.

The Wildcats' offense rang up 31 shots on Fairbanks' net.

The Ice Dogs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Wichita Falls' Evan Cowley stopped 18 shots out of the 20 that he faced. The Wildcats incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
